Here’s the scenario I envision. I check out an e-book reader (for free, of course) from the service counter. The e-book reader is connected wirelessly to the bookstore’s network. I walk over to the computer at the end of a bookshelf or the touch screen panel situated in a book rack. I search titles, check out authors, look at covers, and find a book that seems interesting. I punch in the number of the e-book reader I’m carrying, and the first 40 or 50 pages of the book are downloaded to the reader. I take the e-book reader to a soft chair, hook one leg over the armrest, and read. Maybe I find 10 books that look interesting. I download the excerpt from each.
Just like the rest of us, teachers have their quirks, hobbies, and special interests. A gift that appeals to these individual likes is often a pleasant surprise. One teacher who is a fan of the Broadway show Wicked still talks about her Glinda-themed note cards given by a very observant and thoughtful third grader. Another who loves to bake bread was touched by a personalized recipe book picked out by a seven year old. Neither of these teachers ever made their interests explicitly known, but the children had picked up on the all the same. This made the gifts even more special.
If you do buy an existing coffee shop, as a first time shop owner I’d be sure it is not a failing one. The worst thing to happen is to try and turn around a failing shop when you have no working experience yourself in a profitable one. Look for a shop making money, but also be prepared to not change much, if anything if you do buy it. Reality is, if you do change what is working and making money you can open yourself up to losing business. That would not be good!
To gain some clarity about your wants sit down and make a list of what you do want in a relationship. Right down everything from the type of body the person has to the type of feet they have. It is very important to be aware of how you want them to treat you as well. Now you do need to understand that nobody is perfect so some of these things are going to have to be put closer to the bottom of the list. So now you get to put the things you wrote down in order from the most important to the least important thing you desire. It is your list; no one will see it unless you share it so try and be completely honest.
The Yankee Joe Coffee and tea Shop is right on Main Street in the heart of Macungie Borough. Their coffee is yummy, and you can browse some lovely gifts while you sip your cares away. The shopkeeper is attentive and warm and you’ll enjoy a nice sense of calm. This is a great place to stop if you need to grab a quick gift while you drink your Joe.
As mentioned earlier, if you are terribly busy, you are probably also experiencing a lot of stress. Exercise helps reduce stress, anger and sadness by releasing neurotransmitters called endorphins. This is the exact same way that most antidepressants work, but walking is free and does not require a prescription, which is wonderful if your stress is because you do not have health insurance.
Because of their shear volume, these gifts that were so lovingly purchased lose some of their intended appeal. So what are some creative and frugal alternatives that every teacher will appreciate?
When I say ‘done properly’, I mean giving them a confident yet relaxed, mischievous smile. You know the type I mean, like you are doing something a little bit naughty but that it’s clever at the same time, like butter wouldn’t melt in your mouth. What I don’t mean is a completely over the top, fake smile. The important word to remember is ‘subtle’.
